Curcumin is the pigment in a spice called turmeric and is the one that gives it a rich yellow color and a pungent smell. In fact in Spanish and French turmeric is called Curcuma.
It is believed to have anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial properties. Mix this turmeric powder with buttermilk or water to cure chronic intestinal problems.
