Lakadong turmeric is the finest turmeric variety due to its robust aroma, colour and most importantly higher curcumin content (6-7%) compared to normal varieties(<5%). Curcumin is the active phytochemical compound which gives turmeric its intense yellow pigment and posses great antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Lakadong turmeric is a natural antiseptic & anti-bacterial agent, useful in disinfecting cuts and skin inflammation due to infection.
