The fruit offers many polyphenol antioxidants including mangiferin, catechins, anthocyanins, quercetin, beta-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin and kaempferol. The carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin are beneficial for eye health including age-related degeneration.
