Healthy Popcorn in 3 Flavours

Corn, zea mays is one of the cornerstones of the healthy Central American diet along with beans and pumpkin. Popping the dried seed results in a wholegrain food that is full of fibre and minerals. Popcorn can be a healthy snack depending what is added to it. Here we have used mixtures with French sea salt, coconut nectar sugar, herbs and spices.

The organic spices we have used are of excellent quality coming in from India and Egypt. The sprinkle with cinnamon & coconut nectar sugar powder makes sure the sweet treat spikes the blood sugar as little as possible. The savoury sprinkle incorporates our wonderful new Chinese 5-spice and the spicy curry sprinkle is an extensive mixture of spices with the addition of dill seeds from Egypt.
To coat the popcorn to receive the spice mixtures we have used organic Virgin coconut oil.

This is about 50% lauric acid which is anti-pathogenic, and destroys bacteria, viruses and fungi. It can be a useful dietary addition in cases of candida albicans infestations, and infections of staphylococcus aureus & helicobacter pylori. Used for cooking in the South Pacific cultures, a little goes a long way, and it is great for an occasional treat.
