Explore the combination of sweet lavender honey with a tart hibiscus in a delicious drink to boost health and quench thirst.
The raw, organic, mono-floral honey is made by bees sited in the rich lavender growing region of Spain between Murcia and Valencia. This sun-drenched Mediterranean landscape is perfect for growing lavender and the herb and it’s honey have long been used for medicinal purposes.
Lavender is also known for its skin soothing, nerve calming properties. These properties are naturally imparted to the honey which helps relieve anxiety and lift depression.
The other star of this drink is the Simply Natural Organic Hibiscus Tea. Grown in Egypt using biodynamic farming methods, the Hibiscus Tea exhibits a glorious deep red colour which resonates with the heart and indeed it’s properties are cardio-protective.
In fact, Hibiscus Sabdariffa has been used traditionally to reduce fevers, soothe the nerves, reduce blood pressure and cleanse the liver.
Recent studies of the hibiscus in Iran centred on atherosclerosis and lipid mechanisms, blood pressure and blood sugar, with clinical trials showing positive reduction of cholesterol levels and beneficial effects for diabetes type-2.
Karkadé, as it is known in Egypt or Roselle as it is known in S. E. Asia, is a ‘sour’ tea packed with antioxidants such as anthocyanin and quercetin. It is thought that these and its diuretic effect are important players in the mechanism which lowers blood pressure.

- 3 Simply Natural Organic Hibiscus Tea Bags
- 1 litre boiled filtered water
- 2-3 tsp per glass of Spanish Organic Raw Lavender Honey
- Take boiling water and pour over tea bags in a pot.
- Steep for at least 10 mins.
- Allow to cool a little before adding the honey.
(This is to ensure that the raw honey is not stripped of its beneficial properties.)
- Serve and enjoy!
